Immigration Today

In our first Tuesday Night at the Museum of 2023, we are pleased to welcome Cat Fisher of Quinte Immigration Services to the Museum of Lennox and Addington. Cat has over a decade of experience working with Immigration Services in a variety of roles giving her a unique insight into the barriers faced by newcomers to Canada and specifically this region. Come to learn a little of Canada’s history with immigration and refugees and how the goals and programs have changed over time. Listen as Cat discusses the needs and barriers experienced by those coming to this region, as well as Canada’s vision for immigration in the next few years.

This is also a great opportunity to explore our latest traveling exhibit, Refuge Canada, from the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. Refuge Canada shares the stories of refugees in an evocative and engaging way. The exhibition aims to create a setting for visitors to make a personal connection to the feelings of pain, danger and hope experienced by refugees, and to be inspired and informed on refugee issues in Canada today. You can learn more about the exhibit here.

  • For ages 13+
  • $3/person
