SEPTEMBER 2023
These days, the world is at our fingertips. Airplanes fly us across continents in hours, and a few seconds on Google can conjure up countless images or videos of just about anywhere we can imagine. Looking back to the early 20th century, when modern transportation and communication methods were limited, postcards provided a unique means for people to explore distant lands and cultures, acting as the eyes through which they saw the world.
Postcards were more than mere pieces of paper; they were gateways to a world beyond one’s reach. Greetings From… showcases a selection of postcards from the Archives that were mailed to local residents or collected as souvenirs between the 1900s-1920s. Travel back in time with us during the “Golden Age of the Postcard.”
