Museum Kids is all about “kids teaching kids” and celebrating the unique skills and creativity of our young community members! The NEW Museum Kids shines the spotlight on a youth instructor as they design and lead their very own Museum Kids workshop.
Children ages 4–12 are invited to take part in a hands-on, FREE, fun-filled workshop. Participants might explore visual art, music, jewelry, crafting, or anything else they want to share and teach- no two workshops are ever the same! Parents and caregivers are encouraged to help their little ones.
This innovative “kids teaching kids” approach gives participants the chance to try new activities, build confidence, and make new friends. At the same time, youth instructors (ages 13–18) gain valuable leadership experience, earn an honorarium, and add something truly meaningful to their portfolio, all within a supportive and welcoming museum environment.
If you’re a teen with a creative idea for a Museum Kids workshop, we’d love to hear from you! Contact Alannah MacGregor at amacgregor@lennox-addington.on.ca to get started.
