Remembrance: Stories and Songs is an hour of personal stories and original music from a local veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Through visuals and music, you will learn about just what kind of role Canada really has played on the international stage from personal accounts and then see how those experiences have been turned into country songs. Steve will be available for a Q&A at the end of the presentation.

MusicianBio – Steve G:
Steve is a 30 year veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces across a variety of environments both Regular Force and Primary Reserves. Initially educated at Royal Military College of Canada, Steve holds BA’s in Strategic Studies and Psychology as well as a Masters in Defence Sciences. As an Armour officer, he has seen Canadian, NATO, and UN operational deployments in Bosnia, the Middle East, and Africa. Additionally, Steve played a key role is establishing Canada’s Weapons of Mass Destruction Counter-Terrorism efforts as a senior officer in CANSOFCOM.
Outside of the military, Steve served his local community, wherever he was posted, as a volunteer Fire Service first responder, including 15 years with Loyalist Township Emergency Services and a stint as the Fire Chief of Mississippi Mills Township Fire Dept.
Since retirement, Steve’s life transition is to pursue writing, performing and producing Canadian Country Music with the release of an independent album “Bar and a Half” in 2023 with his second studio album from Radar Love Records “Ordinary Man” to be released in 2026.
