In this month’s Genealogy Club meeting, we’ll take a look at some of the most underutilized resources in the Archives that will uncover more information about your ancestors’ lives!
This presentation will focus on using city directories, voters lists, tax rolls, and other sources to research ancestors between censuses. While census records provide important snapshots of a family at ten-year intervals, these other records can fill in the gaps and reveal where ancestors lived, what they did for a living, and how they changed over time.
The talk will highlight practical research strategies and demonstrate how these sources can be used together to solve genealogical problems and uncover new leads. Online resources and those available in the L&A Archives will be introduced.
Bring your laptop or tablet with you to practice!
Time: 10am-12pm
